上图是一些朋友给我的评价,QQ上的这个功能真是好玩,有些言词代表了过去的一段段历程,有些则是溢词。是以为记。
周五James & Carole家的英语角如期进行,GF不惜“现身”送DY来观摩,难为他工作后的疲惫了。GF的意思是这样的讨论用处不大,主要的是要说,用最普通的对白将各自的意思说出来,能够在日常生活中交流即可。

Wolf in Sheep’s ClothingA wolf, once upon a time, found it so hard to get close enough to attack a flock of sleep that he often went hungry. For a long time the shepherd had guarded his lambs and sheep so carefully that the wolf was becoming desperate.
One night the wolf found a sheepskin that had been thrown away and forgotten. The wolf resolved to disguise himself and so gain an easy living. Quickly he slipped the sheepskin over his own hide and next morning strolled into the pasture with the grazing sheep as if he were one of them.
Soon the lamb that had belonged to the sheep whose skin the wolf was wearing began to follow the wolf. Leading her a little distance apart from the rest of the flock, the wolf in sheep’s clothing made a good meal of her. For a while he succeeded in deceiving the other sheep and enjoying hearty meals.
Even the shepherd was fooled by the wolf in disguise, for when evening came, the wolf in sheep’s clothing was shut up with the sheep in their fold.
But it happened that the shepherd had a longing for mutton broth for his supper that night. Picking up a knife, he went to the fold, and reaching in, seized the first animal he came to. Mistaking the wolf for a sheep, the shepherd killed him on the spot.
For discussion:
1. Why was the wolf successful in getting food when he put on the sheepskin?
2. We have a saying in English “a wolf in sheep’s clothing”. If used to describe a person, what does the phase mean?
3. When you meet someone, how can you know if he or she is sincere? What should you look for?
4. Why is it important that our friends are sincere?
5. What problems can happen if your friends are insincere?
话刚落音,DY就在牛车水的Kreta Ayer CC订了星期六上午10点半开始的两个小时羽毛球场地。“熬”到周六,用牙签将眼皮撑开,跑半个新加坡岛迟到半个小时赶到。当时没有意识到就算不会打,那么自己也应该“敬业”的打球,谢谢DY和GF的陪伴。说实话,现在大腿上仍有些许酸痛,身体素质不是一般的差。打完球,按约定的那样在珍珠坊门口买了些鸭脖子、猪耳朵、重庆酸辣粉、重庆凉粉作为午餐,可能鸭脖子不够辣的原因,还是觉得猪耳朵好吃,yummy,yummy。之后他俩要到小印度附近的教堂参加一些活动,居于体力问题我就没有掺和了。吃饭过程中,DY跟我说她所认为的上帝是一个过程,倒是一个很新颖的说法。当然我还是用上帝是整个宇宙说明了一下,但是却对这个提法的来龙去脉没有说清楚;原因吗,就用上帝是不可知以及不可言说来糊弄你们了,哈哈。约好周日去听福海禅寺的佛家讲座,最后因为不可奉告的理由睡到了下午才起来损失掉了那个缘分。另外感触较大的是当天出门之前,TCH跟我提起家人的重要性,他也在身体力行地实践这个原则,可以看到,我将会在他身上学到许多如何跟家人相处等等合适的方法和态度。今天晚餐时,说起同事的一些事情,而这些都是我没有注意到的。他说,要善于观察周围的人,比如说动物就很注意周围的环境,虽然不必把每件事记在心中,但提炼相关的信息却是必要的。Be prepared.
周六和周日晚上将新的Heroes和一些电影赶玩,Heroes已经是看那些熟悉的面孔晃来晃去就很满足了。对着电脑,在那些电影名字前面犹豫再三要不要点开它们,可能很怕看到烂片,可是犹豫的时候已经可以看完一部烂片了,比如楼上的外星人。昨天将所有的空余时间利用朋友已经看过的电影列表选出自己已经看过的,然后打上星级和标签,当然是在豆瓣上,它推出了一个电台,里面的歌曲还不错,可能是根据所喜欢的专辑来随机推出个人的音乐台。而今天将所有的空余时间看darrensun的游记,虽然只是东南亚,这种义工加旅行以及gap year的想法很吸引人。期待金龟换酒的gap year。
明天太阳下山后就是巴哈欧拉的生日了。
P.S. TLT姑姑给的男孩‘配方’希望能够奏效。这不属于祈祷的范围,我想。

How to make jiaozi (dumplings)Jiaozi is a type of Chinese dumpling made with minced meat and chopped vegetables wrapped in a piece of thin dough. It can be boiled, fried or steamed. When fried, it is called a pot-sticker. This traditional cuisine can be found in the north of China. On Chinese New Year’s (Spring Festival) eve, making and eating Jiaozi is a tradition in the north of China. At this time, all members of the family will get together to make and enjoy them. Making this special food is quick and simple, and is a wonderful way to bring a family together.
Instructions:
1. First make a simple oil and flour dough, then and roll the dough into small thin circles. This will be the Jiaozi wrapper.
2. Place a full teaspoon of filling onto a Jiaozi wrapper.
3. Use a finger to dap the edges of the Jiaozi wrapper with water.
4. Form the Jiaozi wrapper into a crescent moon by folding the cover in half.
5. Press the edges to seal the dumpling.
6. Crimp the edges to make sure the edges are tightly sealed. To cook the Jiaozi, bring a pot of water to a boil. Gently drop the Jiaozi into the boiling water and keep stirring with a pair of chopsticks to prevent them from sticking to one another and to the bottom of the pot.When the water comes back to a boil, add in half a cup of cold water. This is to prevent the dumpling form breaking up due to the over rolling boil. When the water comes back to a boil, the dumplings will float to the top. They are now ready to enjoy.Cucumber and pork fillings
Ingredients:
250g lean ground pork
250 cucumber
Bruised ginger
Scallions
Black fungus
Garlic
Seasoning:
Monosodium glutamate (MSG)
Vegetable oil
Sesame oil
Finely diced garlic
To make:
Mince the pork and cucumbers. Steep the black fungus dice finely. Add the seasonings and mix well.
